Code of Conduct

CODE OF CONDUCT FOR LEARNERS

I ensure learning by:

  • Always trying my best to reach the goals I set in collaboration with the adults in my life.
  • Writing down and checking my homework to the best of my ability.
  • Checking that I have my book equipment, kit that I will need for the day.
  • Not disrupting the class with poor behaviour.
  • Reviewing my work daily with my parents to check that I understand. Asking questions in class when I do not.
  • Arriving at school and class on time.
  • Preparing for all tests and assessment tasks.
  • Producing work that I can be proud of.

 

I share responsibility with my parents by:

  • Talking to my parents daily about my school day, important events and information.
  • Showing my homework book/diary to my parents each day and ensuring that the homework book and diary is signed.
  • Reading to my parents each day.
  • Taking all school notices and newsletters home and returning reply slips.
  • Having my assessment tasks/tests signed and showing my books to my parents.

 

I treat myself and others with respect by:

  • Saying “no” to inappropriate behaviour.
  • Taking responsibility for my actions, equipment, and neatness of my books.
  • Being well mannered towards educators , visitors and fellow learners.
  • Refraining from bullying others and reporting any incidences of bullying and intimidation.
  • Being tolerant of others and allowing them to express their opinions and beliefs.
  • Being considerate, courteous, and kind.
  • Refraining from spreading gossip and untruths about my school, educators and learners.
  • Keeping noise at an appropriate level both inside and outside the
  • classroom.

I help my school by:

  • Looking after my own books, equipment, and property and respecting that of others.
  • Discouraging others from damaging my school’s property, buildings, and reputation.
  • Ensuring that I play my part in keeping the buildings and grounds clean and tidy.
  • Encouraging others to help my school to do so.
  • Getting involved in extra murals and remaining committed for the duration of the activity.
  • Being proud of myself, my uniform, and how I look and behave.
